Large enough to float Sasquatch, the Gold 17 has its own weather pattern and zip code. The large deck provides float for snowshoers and their gear up to 300lbs. New for the 08/09 season is a more aggressive traction system including a heel claw that is nearly twice the size of last year's and like the Gold 10, the Gold 17 has an additional set of stainless steel traversing claws that feel like outriggers for your feet. The Gold 17 is designed for loads and has been chosen by heavy users for military and other work conditions where a dependable and maneuverable snowshoe is required. Even though the Gold 17 is a really big shoe, it is remarkable lightweight and provides excellent float and traction on or off trail.
